buying a new monitor
 

Hi guys !

I am looking for a IPS monitor 24”+ under 400 $ (if there is a monitor that is worth it I will spend more). I need this monitor for game ,mostly FPS ( so respons time is important ) and of course, Movie .! if the monitor has 120 Hz will be better! A IPS monitor with 120 hz or any IPS monitor with 27" size .

My Graphic card is GTX 570 .

i prefer to buy in store , not online!

I'm gonna buy this for christmas. it's rated better than the benQ BENQ XL2420T and it's cheaper, it's 120hz,looks awesome.

And 1MS responsive!!! ( you said you played FPS,it's the best for you because of that)

honestly, for performance it's the best you can have, maybe not for image quality and colors,there will be 600$ panels better..

Sorry if that's not what you are looking for, i'm really bad for monitors, i just know the basics like 120hz and response time but i don't know exactly what is IPS, all i know is that it's LED backplate.

You will have to choose, you can either get an IPS Panel and get 60hz, or get a TN Panel with 120hz

The difference in these panels is the color accuracy. As you are going to buy from a store I would suggest you to look at an IPS screen and at the same time a TN monitor and you will find out a huge difference in colors.

I am not good in GPU, but the only question is that will the GTX 570 be able to support modern games at 120fps? in 1080p? with ultra high settings? If thats possible then get a 120hz monitor. Or else if you are getting around 60 to 80 fps, you will hardly feel a change in the smoothness so in that case get an IPS.

But as I said earliar, you can get either color depths or smooth motion.

Careful,i don't think all the 120hz panels are 3D vision ready.

Hence, getting a 3d vision ready monitor will give a 120hz refresh rate, right???

Yes of course,but Not all 120 hz are 3D vision ready. But 3D vision ready are 120 hz ^^

IIRC Any monitor capable of outputting at 120hz will be 3D ready.

If you have some documentation stating otherwise please do show, I'd love to read it.

what do you want? smooth like butter gaming? or best color accuracy gaming?

I know that i should buy IPS for best color accuracy gaming and 120 hz for butter gaming ! but i couldn't decide that which IPS monitor has lowest input lag and is good for FPS or other game and Eyes!!
