$550 for the Catleap. But we know how you feel about them.

As for 16:9, there is nothing wrong w/ it when you step to 2560x1440. 1440 is plenty of verticle height. Anymore and it would force me to move the monitor further back to eliminate eye strain.

Bingo. No 3 year warranty, cross shipping, dead pixel guarantee or proper tech support means I am more than willing to spend the 20% more on a Dell.

Is that XL2420TX an IPS panel? It says TN on the official BenQ site.

When reviewing the monitor did you notice a very subtle diagonal cross hatching pattern in the bottom half of the screen when viewing close?

Did you also not get image burn/retention when, say you left it displaying a web page for 15 mins and then switched to a window with a dark background?

I am trying to find out if I should accept these as characteristics of the monitor as others have also noted them, or if i have a duffer. its odd you didn't see anything like this....

I have one of these in front of me. I don't see a screen-door pattern no have I experienced image retention after viewing HWC for hours on end.

Actually what i meant was that if it were 120hz for a reasonable price from a company like Dell i would buy one. 60hz at that price on the other hand is too high for me. I play alot of FPS games and response time matters. I see quite a bit of ghosting with my current 60hz panel. It looks like i'll be going for this BenQ model BenQ XL2420T 24IN 120HZ LCD Monitor LED 1080p 2MS Lightboost 2XHDMI Display Port HAS 3D Vision Doesn't come with the 3d glasses but i honestly don't care about that since 3d anything gives me headaches. I seriously considered the Catleap monitors but i just can't justify the risks/cost that come along with them.
