My System Specs

Question LCD OR LED Computer Display.

Is the "LED" feature really worthy compared to the standard LCD or is it just over-hyped. I'm comparing these two basically:
Dell ST2420L (WLED)
P2412H (LCD?)

Thanks.

LED is an LCD screen, just that with your standard LCD it uses CCFL back lighting where LED uses LED back lighting. LED monitors tend to be more brighter and provide a sharper image. Also they use less energy. I would go for LED.

I check on Dell site. Both these displays are LED but ST2420 highlights the LED feature P2412 doesnot. Is it because "P" is sold with professional systems of Dell.

Just keep in mind, that for some, LED monitors produce a more blue hue in the whites. I know that here at my office, we have U2410 and U2412 monitors, the 12's being LED, but I find the 10's to look better. The LED models do run significantly cooler though. I could almost cook an egg on my U2410's ;)
