using my LCD tv as moniter

I have been using my Samsung LCD tv as a monitor for a while now, and I noticed something the other day when I was playing Diablo 2 LOD that the colour Gold doesn't actually appear as gold . At first I thought that it was the Game it self so I loaded the game on my other PC which is using and Asus 17" monitor and it shows the colour gold in the game, I am wondering why that could be?
do I need to calibrate my TV or something?

tvs and computer monitors use completely different color profiles. you coukd spend the money and adjust your tv but it will never be the same.

hm I always thought that an LCD tv was pretty much the same as a monitor, is there any TV that uses the same as a monitor

You are aware D2 isn't going to be a great indicator as it's limited to 800 x 600 resolution. Your TV or monitor is probably around 1080p. If you are playing in full screen mode, then everything is going to look slightly stretched and distorted.

not to mention, the panels themself also might not have alot of color/contrast depth which also in turn would affect how the colors look on it.
