Question Question

I just purchased this and its on its way.

I had a question about the Non-colorimeter tweaking results.

Can i just change the setting that was posted on the review using the onboard monitor tools or do I have to download LCD monitor test and calibration wizard to get the results?

PS-great Review. It is indepth and very informative. I bought the monitor after reading this review.

Any suggestions for calibration settings for the U2312HM? I will be gaming so I am a noob at monitor calibrations, given that I don't do graphics/printing work. I know each individual monitor is different, but can someone post some ball-park good settings for gaming?

Give the manual calibration settings I listed in the review on pg. 9 a whirl. It may - hopefully - get you in the ballpark. Then use the programs I list to eyeball it. That will get you close enough. :)

Default Running with Linux

Great review, I an shopping for a couple of these to replace my ageing setups.

Any chance you've tested this monitor with a computer/laptop running Linux?

Just to be safe, in case it refuse to work (though I think it should not happen).

Thanks in advance.

Sorry I didnt try it under Linux....but TBH I dont think that matters. You will have to mess with the colors (like you would under Windows)...but it should be seen as just another monitor. ;)

I think so too, just to be on the safe side.

Anyway, for your future reviews, you may want to burn a liveCD and try it out.
This would definitely expand your reviews audience.

e.g. Main Page - Linux Mint

Cheers

I haven't seen a monitor not work under Linux, though I have encountered a couple of cranky video cards.
