Monitor showed up today, so far plugged it in, worked flawlessly, and OMG the picture on this thing is amazing, I thought you guys were just talking it up but it kicks the crap out of my old samsung P2370... From what I can see there is 1 stuck pixel but unless its a black or white screen its very hard to notice. So far no back light bleed at all though =) all in all best purchase this year hands down.

For those that say these monitors are awesome, is it because they're "Apple" grade? Or because they're IPS? Because I compared the screen of my sister's UX32A to my 3820TG and while the UX32A does look better, the different is not, to me, worthy of a significant investment.

For me I think its a little bit to do with the higher contrast ratio, brighter LED back lighting and better colors then my old monitor, but the smoothness of the higher resolution also plays a big part of it, like switching from the old apple 3g to the retina display, text is sharper ect.

For me the size, resolution and image quality was appealing. When compared to direct competitors in the 27 inch market it was the clear winner.

27in TN panels at 1080p for cheap are garbage.
27in VA panels at 1080p are equally priced and lower resolution.
Dell, HP and Apple's $1000 monitors are way too costly.

a 27in 2560x1440 S-IPS for $325-400 is simply the most appealing deal out there and I'm extremely happy with mine.

I would say it's awesome because it's an "apple" grade display in a cheapish plastic bezel. Which I don't really give a hoot about the stand and frame being plastic and relatively cheap feeling when the display itself is everything I could ask for.

Ok so after a few days of use, I can confirm I have a single stuck pixel, seems like its a redish color but I honestly dont notice it. Other then that the stand works fine, it supports the weight without any issues and the tilt feature seems to work. Over all im pretty happy with it, red-cap got it to me in 2 days which is pretty amazing, and gaming wise its a joy to play on. Highly recommend to anyone thinking about going with a Korean screen.

Yours didn't work right. I have taken apart 2 LCDs it can be a bit tricky to connect the wires and closing after, good luck.

I have a samsung 23" with its internals working fine, but I broke the screen. I should list its internals on ebay since I ripped it apart after it sat there for 2 years

Hopefully it will go smoothly, I recapped a samsung lcd about a year ago and know all about the trickiness involved in getting these things taken apart.
