what are the pros and cons of your tv in your opinion?
and have u had any problems?

Krixxer March 10, 2008 06:34 PM

I have both a 32 aquos for my monitor and a 37regza in the living room They are both of equal image quality.

you won't be disappointed with either, save yourself some coin if you can and pick the one that offers a better deal$$

Vortex: do you use the OPC feature?

billsan101 March 10, 2008 06:36 PM

thats the thing, they are both 1500$

and the toshiba is a 2008 new model, and i find the image to be a bit deeper on it, but ppl are leaning more towards the sharp on other forums..

Krixxer March 10, 2008 07:03 PM

$$1500 eh! so like 1700 OTD .

if you plan to watch this from the couch and play your xbox from the couch at 10 feet or more and will not use it as a workspace then I think you are blowing a bunch of coin for nuttin'

just for living room use:why not look at a nice 720p for 1/2 the price?

its for my ps3 in my home office/movies/hd tv and i wont be sitting to far away.

spoke to a friend last night and he told me his 42"regza was $999.99 over the holidays. I hate the price manipulation imposed by best buy and futureshop but i guess this is what free market is all about.

BTW - when i got my Aquos I haggled the guy at futureshop for $150 yes i even haggle at futureshop. I look at any price as "asking price" and not the final. and make sure you don't buy the extended warrantee. I just placed it on my gold card; many offer warrantee extensions for free.

and a final word of advice: make sure you check all the stores and remember web prices are not always the best and it's worth to haggle with your sales person

list of stores for you to check out

Sorry delayed response. The only CON I have with my TV is that I can't figure out where the PiP is, as I run 2 computers with it, with DVI to HDMI cables. I wouldnt mind watching a movie or something in Pip mode while surfing or gaming..... Apart from that no issues.

Not sure what the OPC thing is but I disable most things, as I like manual control over my settings.

I have a Sharp Aquos LC46D62 (Last years model - 46'' 1080p) and Ive never seen a better looking TV. Many tv reviewers i read when deciding on it said it has "the best black level of any LCD tv to date" so im guessing the newer D64 versions will be even better.... Don't they also use the 120Hz refresh rate? If thats the case then TAKE THE AQUOS!!!! 120Hz is no myth or gimmick, its like playing a game at 60fps as oppossed to 30fps. All motions (DVD, HD, Gaming) are smoother and cleaner with less cutting and lines going through the display. So again, if that new Aquos has the 120Hz refresh rate oh for the love of whatever deity you believe in please get it!!! You Wont Be Sorry!!!

EDIT: Just check the sharp site and it seems its the D92 ones have the 120Hz refresh rate only... Sorry for the ranting. Oh well, get the sharp anyways with an extended warranty! :D hehe.
