Default Low Input Lag IPS

Hey folks, I'm in the market for a decent monitor and I'd like to hear your suggestions.

Use:

2D 3D artwork (game/web design).
Some scripting/coding/office.
Games. :)

Budget: <$600 (Lower the better, but that's a hard cap.)

Size: 27" If possible, else 24"

Connections: DVI

Other Features: None Required

Currently I'm using a SyncMaster 2343BWX and an Acer x223w. Neither is exceptional for gaming and the Acer even less for artwork.

I think an IPS with low lag input would be the way to go. A 120hz (or 3D) panel is not what I need. My system has one HD5850 so I imagine 120hz is useless. Any recommendations?

Thanks for your time guys!

Dell U2711 or Samsung S27A850 would really be the only 2 choices.

I have no issues gaming on my U2711, although there is (apparently) input lag.

Neither of these fall under $600 though.

haha, well it really is a great monitor, and I do love it, but it's not the best gaming monitor out there. It's great for artwork once calibrated and I honestly wish I had another one too! I didn't mean to knock it. ;)

Might be hard to find less than $600
List of IPS Monitors, Displays and IPS Panel Devices

There"s also this; it"s not 27" or even 24" but the price is right

24" here. If you order from them get the small business price.

Default PA238Q

I've found the Asus PA238Q 23" IPS with very low latency. It gets a 5 star review from PRAD monitor reviews. PRAD | Review Monitor Asus PA238Q Page 14

It's on sale at canada computers for $255. I might just grab it after all and then save up for that crazy LG Intros (if it lives up to its specs).

Edit: Apparently the PA238Q is a pretty low quality unit. I passed on it.
