Problems with power adapter on monitor

Hey everyone I just bought a new 27" Samsung, the Samsung P2770FH 27-inch, however there is one problem with it, When i go to plug in the power cable the thing just slips out, the only way for me to get it to power on is by pushing it in and holding it there, as soon as i let go it pops out and the screen powers off. Now this monitor uses an external power brick, its not just a regular monitor cable, its like the one from a router. Now when I don't know whether it is the actual adapter cable or the input on the monitor that is bad. When i look at the input on the monitor I can see a little thin wire like object, maybe that is what wont allow the cable to go in? Please help

EDIT: I fixed it, Opened the Monitor up and lifted the Metal wire up so it wouldn't get in the way and now it just fit in like new.
