Default AMD 3850 APU

I recently put together a new comp. with an AMD 3850 for my brother in law. No problems.

He called tonight and told my wife it screwed up his 50 inch plasma and computer by using an HDMI cable to hook the 2 together.
Is that possible?
Didn't think so, but he needs an expert opinion.
He lives 6 hours away, so i can't just pop over to see what he did wrong.
I told him he can't use an HDMI and DVI at the same time, but don't think that would cause any permanent damage, could it?
This is making me doubt everything I thought I knew.

sounds like a unfortunate coincidence, you can have it all hooked up at the same time with no problems

what are the symptoms? is he getting interference? if so try unplugging any tv coax connected to the tv or boxes, it could be a ground loop problem

Very, very very doubtful. It's very likely a coincidence. Nothing is impossible but I highly doubt it. I would say the cable itself is more likely to cause this than the video card.

Xeven: How about 10^8.450980400142567e-001 -as a possible replacement for "10e"
