Prob with display/size monitor

Ok so i just got my new comp, runs great and everything but one thing i dont know how to fix. I have 2 xfx 6950s and a 27in LED 1080 asus monitor. The problem im haveing is that the screen isnt going all the way the edges of the screen. Having about 1in of black space on the side and .5in on the top and bottom. I have gone into setings and see if i could fix it but it says its picking up the right monitor and resolution and what not but doesnt fill out my monitor. Also i had my laptop hooked up to it before my desktop came in and it was filling the whole monitor with no issues. Some help would be greatfull. Thanks
