aneurysm inducing display oddity with whs

this is not about whs.

server system drive failed and was replaced. thought i would swap out the video card for the x800xl in my sons system so he could have the asus thingy i had. didnt think there would be a problem.

HOWEVER

the video from the server will NOT display on my syncmaster BX2235, but it will on my his
syncmaster 206bw

what the fudgeeos is with that?

is the x800xl too old to output to the newer monitor or what, or do i have to load a driver for it in the whs?
