AVOID the current generation of Samsung LCD and LCD / LED TVs. There are a loooong list of know issues. It seems Samsung really skimped on their panels this year.

Coming from our TV reviewer I would take it serious. For you calibration question, you can always look at local TV store if they offer the service. Sometime you can get it for free with your TV who know :P If not, many test DVD are good and usually very affordable like this 25$ complete test Blu-ray.

I knew what i was getting into with the glare. I had read the reviews and new that i would have to position it properly. Light in my room are all on the same wall as the tv. Night time I think it is amazing but sometimes in the days, when the blinds are open, it can be hard to see.

I have never been a fan of Samsung. I know some of their plasmas last yea had nasty humming when the screen showed light colors. Sounds like they haven't mad any big improvements this year.

No, as long as you can control the lighting or it's one of the higher-end plasmas with a good AG coating.

Sit infront of it and play with different setting. Once you get a picture you like keep it like that try few movie and do some adjustement. Use the web to know what setting do what. Then, latter spend 30$ for calibration software or even ask it as a gift for birthday or Xmas :P
