Default Alienware OptX AW2310 VS Acer GD245HQ

Theyre both 3d and 120hz.
Which one is better, clearer etc., & which one is more supportive of Nvidia 3d Vision?

The Alienware model uses the same panel as the Acer GD235HZ while the GD245HQ uses a very similar TN-based panel that's a bit larger. All in all, they will all support 3D Vision equally but the GD245HQ will give you a bit more screen real estate.

I'm pretty sure it is the exact same CMO sourced panel in both, so screens will be the same size.

Edit: The Acer has a CMO M236H5-L02 panel and the AW2310 has the M236H5-L01 (non-L02) but they are the same size.

Alternatively the AlienWare has better ergonomics due to a height-adjustable stand, but it's reflected in the higher price.

Actually the physical size of the higher end Acer's screen is 24.5"...so not exactly the same panel.

The Acer is sold outside of North America as the GD235HZ. I don't know why they name it GD245HQ for us as it's the same screen.'

TFT Central - LCD Monitor Information, Reviews, Guides and News has a good panel database where I found that info on.

I got an alienware monitor myself, and while I absolutely love it, I would advise that you go with the Acer in this battle; more screen real estate and most likely a nicer price tag

I honestly don't trust any Acer product. To me, their products are cheaper for a reason: They're cheap.

Actually I think the Acer is good but slightly rated below the AW2310.. that's the conclusion I've come to from researching and asking the very question myself. That being said, I however do not see anyone putting the AW2310 at the top of the 120hz hill. In fact, I could not in any way conclude that the AW is better than the BenQ XL2410T. Yes, I've been told the BenQ has terrible viewing angles, but still it seemed to be at least as good as the AW2310 when I asked for a comparison. If someone can dismiss this claim, I would like to know. My own personal opinion is that the acer and the aw2310 have been out since early 2010 if not longer and it would be a shame to pay for a montior that others have already been enjoying for well over a year! Of all components to my upcoming computer build, the monitor is not one that I would like to be "aged"..

I personally may just buy a BenQ, but I find the AW2310 more appealing. What a conundrum.. Help ~!

One thing about Alienware,it's A Dell product and NO ONE beats Dell for a monitor warranty. I have become a Staunch supporter of Alienware [Dell] over the years, mainly because of thier warranty and product replacement practice. You may not have any issues right now, but when you do,and at some point you will,a good product warranty is your best investment.
