Thin pink line

Hi Guy's I have a acer AL2017 monitor and an hour ago a thin pink line developed from top to botton on the screen. I googled it and the consensus was the screen is starting to go. I came here to read up on the new monitors and the pink line is gone. Maybe I scared it by thinking of throwing it in the bin. I just built a i7 920 rig with a GTX 260 card so I'm looking to get a decent larger screen monitor to go with it. I am totally pleased with the acer but that pink line tells me the end is near. There is some terminology being used that is greek to me so I'm hoping I can get some help, or direction to any place I can read up on monitors.
IPS and TN are mentioned,also LED TN. Can I get some help with these terms? Thank's
