Which is the better 27inch monitor for gaming

I'm looking to upgrade my monitor which has served me well but has started feeling small after a year and a half and i need that "wow this screens huge" again for all my games, I'm looking at the two monitors below, Now the Samsung is probably the sure shot for me but I've been interested in trying an Asus, I'll be selling my lcd i have now to recover some of the cost, Which one?...Or neither and go with something else?

I purchased the Asus VE278Q on sale for $350 after testing numerous units including the two mentioned above. The VE278Q is the newer LED version of the VE276Q. The Samsung P2770FH is also a good monitor but, personally, I didn't like the colors. Also tried the high end Dell U2410. They say its great when you are lucky to get a good unit. Well I must have got a bummer. Uneven color cast, green or purple banding, and the inability to correct the flaws with any type of calibration.

Anyway I settled for the VE 278Q at less than half the price. Remember its a TN Panel with all the faults that entails.
