Samsung has one of the most complete lineups of HDTVs which run the gamut in terms of pricing and features so they are well positioned to take charge of the Christmas rush. I was hoping more from those series from Samsung:( that's sad. Not impressed since some sub 2000 TV are really near and maybe some are better. Great review SYK!

hdtv's are such a joke, the main gain over crt's is the size... this is why i bought the cheapest 1080p i could find, in a decent size, 37" 1080p dynex on sale this summer for 399, the PQ matches most lcd's ive seen, most well tuned plasmas are better.. /insert more ranting

I've actually given up on HDTVs. There isn't a single current generation set that I would buy. The 55C650 is an option but if you don't happen to get the SQ01 panel, you're screwed.

About a year ago I went looking for an LN52B750 with cash in hand and willing to pay as much as it took. I couldn't find one for loving or money and most other people were in the same situation as I was. It seems like the move to 3D TVs at the high end has necessitated to serious degredation in terms of overall quality.

That's why I never let a friend pay more than like 800$ box on a TV...it's always the same crap...Maybe one day some one will see that there is actually a GOOD market for a NICE HDTV.

This really is a shame.

Samsung is either unable, or unwilling to fix the issues that keep coming up time after time. There's really no excuse for it. They know image quality is terrible under Game Mode. They know of the horrible flashlighting effects. Do they give a damn to fix them? No, of course not.

It's like they're playing down the level of their competition. They don't want to put forth the effort and money to address recurring issues unless they're forced to. They'd rather put more money into a new snazzy looking design for the stand. And there's nothing we can do about it. As long as the average joe is willing to blissfully fork over $2,800.00 Samsung won't be compelled to do anything.

I'd be willing to bet their next 55" LED has the exact same issues, while costing more. Samsung FTL.
