Which 27-30" IPS LCD?

Dual 27" is pretty amazing. Shame the crosshair falls smack dab in the middle of the bezels though

Maybe I'll post some pictures tomorrow of it. Don't think I'll be keeping it though, was more just an experiment, especially since my Acer is lower resolution (2048x1152) than the Dell, so the Dell runs under native. Doesn't look bad in games though, but you can tell text isn't as sharp as it should be. However the scaler does a pretty decent job.

Response time and input lag of the U2711 I'd say is identical to the Acer (TN based). I don't notice any perceptible difference between them. I do notice that the Acer is much warmer and seems hazy (low contrast?).

Surprisingly though, 4096x1152 doesn't seem to kill my single HD5870 much if at all. I was expecting a major drop in performance. I guess because a lot of the extra viewable space is low-res textures. Played DiRT 2, BF:BC2, MoH and COD:BO. All worked decently.

Kind of tempted to order 2 more U2711s though Maybe if there's some crazy boxing day sale.

Here's a couple dual-screen shots. Dell on the left, Acer on the right. The Dell was obviously running under native (2048x1152 rather than 2560x1440).



Pictures didn't turn out the greatest, but whatever. Get's the basic idea across ;) Total width from bezel to bezel was 51 inches

Still waiting for mine.....someone must be hitch-hiking from Ontario with it....8 days now from order time.....I now know why I love ordering from NCIX / DC / BD ....2 days Max ;)

Just pulled the trigger on a U3011 from Dell Small Business USA for $1,202.95. The coupon code is P?XSB2$8XSH3M3 for any who have access to a US shipping address and lust after that big boy.

I'll probably keep my LG L246WP for at least a month, just in case.

I snapped up a U3011 from dell.ca with the -$300 deal that is good 'till the 24th. Sweet thing is I ordered Sunday and it has shipped already :)

May have it in time for C-mas ;)

Just order 4 of the U2711's for work. Nice but they will only be in my office for a couple days while I get the systems set up. Hmmm, might just have to take them out and set up all four on one machine. But alas that won't be until after Christmas.
