Default buy lcd now or not

first, my crt is dying... and i dont want to buy used crt again because crt age is already dead...

tft lcd... it plainly sucks... you already know... i owned one ips lcd (dell 2209wa) for a few hours but i dont like it... so i gave it to my older brother...

i am still waiting for oled... but i think its too early to tell if its really good...

i am starting to research on the projector... so i would like to know some about it... here is some questions

- how quality/accuracy is the color?
- must it be using at the dark room?
- is it accuracy... for example resolution or straight line...
- is it good refresh like 85hz or more?

i want to use it for watch some movie/shows, game and photo editing (or rarely 3d/autocad)

btw i am very picky person... is it really for me? but i could be very patience person to configure it...

Are you serious?

TFT isn't that bad at all.

OLED? Will be a waste of money as I'm not impressed with LED as is.

and projectors? Not worth it for day to day use at all.

TFTs will depend a lot on the manufacturer which is why I mostly stick with Samsung and you also have to take into consideration you'll have to adjust the color settings of any monitor you buy.

Yes I've used projectors and the colors can be pretty good but not great and they use a bulb which if you use on a 24/7 basis will burn out VERY quickly.

Projector - good for movies, watching tv, and console gaming
LCD's - good for photo editing, computer gaming, etc. Look at the IPS stuff. Dell has some decent monitors while they are certainly not the best available their warranty on ultra sharps is amazing.

you mean ultra sharp then the following 2 are good models if you can swing the price.

DELL DELL ULTRASHARP U2711 27-INCH MONITOR : Computer Components | Dell Canada

and it looks like dell finally replaced the 30" size with a new one.

DELL UltraSharp U3011 30-inch Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor : Computer Components | Dell Canada

wait until they are on sale unless your made of money.

that tft site is really cooler than it should be...

anyway... according to The TFT Selector

it narrow to dell u2711 for my preference... another option is pa271w and U3011... but pa271w is okay but very expensive... u3011 is not great as it should be... because i like to have best color/picture/graphic than game + movies/tv...

so i will take... so i look up at price time... i found one at Dell Ultrasharp U2711 27IN Widescreen LCD Monitor IPs 2560X1440 6MS 80000:1 DVI-D HDMI DisplayPort for 800.. i heard recently cheapest one is 860 at ncix... or 870 at dell sale...

so should i buy it now... i mean i wonder why they sell them at cheap recently... clean out sale? i wont have a lcd until this end of nov or after that... depend on my time and gpu market...

advice?
