I'm curious, how long did you use the LCD for? I found initially moving from CRT to LCD was tough, but after a month or so, I didn't notice the difference.

I've had strictly TN panels (3 total now) and no major complaints. Though I do have a Spyder2Express so they've all been calibrated to some extent. Granted it only measures the center, it still helps out a ton with colour accuracy. More expensive tools do better jobs of course.

Though the U2711 and U3011 are solid suggestions. Maybe also Apple's Cinema Display 27" and the HP ZR30w.

If you think the 2209WA was bright, you're in for something getting a U2711... it's brighter and bigger, so way brighter.

If you didn't like the 2209WA (excellent monitor) then you won't like the 27" one either..

It's a great monitor, it WILL give you a headache for a few days cause it's way brighter than regular crappy LCDs... but after you get used to it, it's amazing. Great color.. hell you can just turn the brightness down, it will still look great and have decent color accuracy.

i know haha... i slowly got used to it at my brother's house... but i am not too happy about small resolution of 1600x1050 (only two resolutions :\)... when i came back to my home... i totally can tell between 2209wa and my crt... >_>;

i will try to do my best to adjust the lcd to my preference as possible... if not then must get used to it because crt age is already dead... :\

there's nothing wrong with crt's I love their clarity... I'm still using the Sony FW900 they're superb.. but yeah you can grab 24" LCD monitors 1080P/1920x1200 monitors for dirt cheap $180-$250

be aware of a projector cannot be used in all situation, like if there is light in the room the image will all be shadded. I think you wont be happy with a screen for long time if you don't like a 2209. Maybe go to few local store and look at demo screen, who know, you could find one you love?
