Wireless Monitor setup.

I have been looking for a unit to allow me to send a wireless video and audio signal down to my basement. I have a theater room there and want to play some of my games and what not on the big screen.
I tried using a viewsonic wireless media center and that was a complete failure.

Basically I want to send live feeds from my computer to my basement. So far I have found little to well NOTHING that can offer me that. Tech guys in a few shops say it can't be done. They say the signal can't work quick enough. I think there full of it because there media centers uses video files on my own machine. hmmm seems to be fast enough.

Got anything in mind other then running a cable down to my basement or moving my computer itself.

Wireless gaming won't happen.

I'm not convinced it can't... it's a very simple arrangement. Whats to say I can't send wireless video and audio. Hell all I need then is wireless keyboard and mouse.

If you can have wireless media centers that take videos, music, and pictures off your own computer... Then sending the same signal only in live feeds from your computer should not be much different. If I had some more knowledge on programming I would really try to make it happen, however I am now. So that went out the window.

Why not just pickup your computer and move it? It's free and will work great.

Sending data files over wireless is a totally different concept from sending basically uncompressed video at some fairly high resolution along with audio too.

For example: a single-link DVI does 3.7Gbit/s. No consumer wireless network can do such a speed to my knowledge.

Yea I understand whats required for sending live feeds, but it can be done.

Moving my computer is very doable, i'm not just lazy and don't want to do it. It's just an inconvenience with the way I have everything setup. Especially when my new rig gets built.

It's just a thought, nothing more.

It can be done ... but it will be expensive and come w/ limitations ...

My new Plasma is wireless, but there is no way to tap into the feed or send something of your own to the set. Hollywood has to approve the set to make sure you cant tap into that sweet 1080p signal and (gasp) record it.... But my tv's brand new I bet ppl will figure it out in time. (Samsung FP-T5094)
