I am probably getting the Dell U2311 (IPS) for 259.

Didn't I read somewhere that IPS monitors were slow? as in not good for gaming?

Maybe I'm just imagining things....

Depends on the monitor, but I think it used to be a much bigger deal than it is now.

I went from a TN 22" Samsung to a Dell 22" IPS monitor, and didn't have any issues with either ghosting or input lag. The colors are amazing, too. I would never go back.

Just make sure you research whichever monitor you for, in case it is an issue with that particular model.

I'd suggest going with that too if you can buy it within less than 48h as that's how long the sale is for. Probably down to 24h now.

You probably did a while ago but we should be at a point now where it doesn't have that issue with current panels. If you need an explanation of the different panel types look here. If all you use your computer for is web browsing, email, etc. then a TN would suit you fine. For anything else like gaming and media, definitely go for MVA/PVA or IPS. Way better colour reproduction than TN's, and better viewing angles (IE the colours will hold up at higher angles). Dell monitors are always a good choice. Check to see if they are TN though, cause nowadays they have TN's using their Ultrasharp moniker, which they never used to.

I checked a few reviews and the response time seems to be reasonable.
I order it thru my EPP and I got an extra 7% discount. So the total comes to 28x.xx (including tax and environmental tax in ontario)

Hopefully, I will get it next week since I just sold my mon and I am using my tv now which sucks.

Congrats. I have 3 of these and they are fine for the amount of casual gaming i do. They are also great for photo editing.
