Default eyefinity question

Simple question and i am unable to find an exact answer.

My set display set up

Main: 27 inch LG
Second: 23 inch Samsung LED
Third: 42 inch sharp aquos, (3 years old, still 1080p)

My uses: I am ONLY interested in extended desktop mode hence the 3 different size displays. Ill admit, the eyefinity stuff is cool, just not applicable for the games i play and what i do with my computer. Step one was getting this Dell DP -> DVI active adaptor and now that i have that im ready to go!

My main question is can i run the 2 monitors through DVI and the TV through HDMI? And resolution default to the lowest rated display in extended desktop mode. THis is important to me because the TV is a weaker display than the 2 monitors.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

You can't run two monitors off DVI and one off of HDMI. The card only supports two DVI/VGA/HDMI outputs at once, so the third monitor has to be run off of DisplayPort (since you mentioned you already have an active DP adapter, I'm not sure why you asked this question altogether, unless you meant something else). As for your resolution question, yes, the resolution for each display will be set to the smallest native resolution out of all the monitors you have connected. Eyefinity does not support mixed resolutions. So for example, if you have two 1080p monitors and one with a native resolution of 1680x1050, in Eyefinity mode all three displays will be running at 1680x1050.

Okay sounds good,

What about for extended desktop, does that support mixed resolution?

Yes, extending your desktop does allow you to mix resolutions.
