Question eyefinity question

ok got 2 questions about eyefinity.

i was looking at 3 asus VW246H Newegg.com - ASUS VW246H Glossy Black 24" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 ASCR 20000:1 (1000:1) Built-in Speakers
hooked up to a single 5970

1) does the added monitors effect frames per second of games in any way?
2) those particular screens have speakers on them will all 3 monitors have sound coming out of them or just one?

I know now with my new setup my SLI 275 GTX's are struggling a little with three monitors (24" ) compaired to one 24" monitor .Not sure if they all will have sound but if they are connected up the same it would make sense. Why don't you buy 3 monitors without speakers and buy a good set of speakers. I personally havn't heard good sound out of a monitor in a long time

1) Of course. The video card has to render three monitors worth of stuff instead of just one. There's a pretty significant performance difference.
2) That depends on how you have your sound configured. If you don't connect the speakers then sound won't come out of them.

theres a very simple answer to your question. you will have ZERO performance issues with the 5970 and 3 x 1920 x 1080 monitors.

The 5970 is = to 2 x 5850, or 5870 if you give it a voltage bump and oc a bit.

On my current setup i have a SINGLE 5870 and run 3 x 1680 x 1050 with maximum IQ on every modern game ive played (which is all the most recent) with very good framerates. your graphics card is capable of being TWICE as good as mine, so you will have no issues at all.

On the sound, each monitor will have a cable that is supposed to run from the monitor to your audio out port in the back of your pc. unless you get a splitter, you'll only be able to plug in ONE monitor at a time, which is ok because if you like to have your audio in stereo you'll not want all 3 monitors hooked up at once.

He didn't say you won't see a performance difference. He said you won't have any issues. Your performance will be lower than it would be with a single monitor, but your card should still be enough to drive all three monitors without having to sacrifice on image quality.

20-30 that dont matter, eyefinity is more than worth the loss, and the loss will be negligable in your case.
