My System Specs

Default Monitor For a Multimedia User/Casual Gamer

I got interested in buying a new monitor after reading the review on the GTX 460 and playing some SC2. Plus I wanted a new monitor for a long time now so I've been searching around and doing some research on and off. I'm a multimedia person user. Multiple HDMI and DVI ports are a plus, as it'd be neat to connect things other than my computer to the monitor. Size of the monitor doesn't matter to me.

I'm using STICKY: The LCD Thread - AnandTech Forums to help me choose a monitor

Currently, I'm interested in the following:

Newegg.ca - ASUS VW224U Black 22" 2ms(GTG) Widescreen LCD Monitor w/ HDCP Support 300 cd/m2 1000:1 (ASCR 5000:1) Built in Speakers
Newegg.ca - ASUS VH242H Black 23.6" 5ms HDMI Full 1080P Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 1000:1 (ASCR 20000:1) Built in Speakers
Newegg.ca - ASUS VH202T-P Glossy black 20" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor w/ HDCP Support 300 cd/m2 ASCR 20000:1 Built in Speakers w/ Aspect Control
Newegg.ca - ASUS VH226H Black 21.5" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen 16:9 Full HD 1080P LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 1000:1 (ASCR 12000 : 1) Built in Speakers

Well you get the idea. There's a lot of monitors that look really good and if I was to buy one, I'm not sure which to buy. Can someone help me out? I have a$200 budget. Of course, the cheaper it is, the better.

Thanks.

Drop the first and third ones. Go 1080p.

Ya those monitors lack HDMI. Just realized that.

What about monitors from NCIX, Staples, etc. They all look very promising and very good. The more I look around, the more I can't decide on which to get.

What's your budget? Do you need speakers?

Crap I thought I put the budget in. No wonder I was lacking replies.

Around $200. Of course, the cheaper it is the better. And no I got speakers. Getting my friend's Logitech X-540 to replace my current Altec Lansing setup soon.

I got a $15 gift card at Newegg, so it'd be great if I can put that to use.

Is LCD that much worse compared to LED? I saw Linus Tech Tips on that and the difference between LED and LCD is night and day. But it looks like the LCD monitor was poorly calibrated as my current Sharp LCD is much better than that.

Is this a good monitor? There's no reviews for it, but I think it looks pretty good. Free shipping too.

NCIX.com - Buy LG E2240T-PN 21.5IN Widescreen LED Backlit LCD Monitor 1920X1080 5ms 50000:1 VGA DVI - Black - E2240T-PN In Canada.

There are quite a bit of LED monitors that look pretty good as well, and I got no idea what to choose.
