Is 3 monitors really better than say using a big lcd/led/plasma tv? I use a 40" Bravia and love it. A 22-24" monitor just doesn't cut it for me. The amount of money spent on 3 monitors could easily get a 52" tv if you're going high end. JMHO.

Nvidia's option means you need to where glasses...GAY.

I dont mind watching a Movie in 3d for a few hours, But when i do a Full night of gaming, Glasses Just wont cut it.

I wish Nvidia was able to comeout with something a little more Original...

Yes. Resolution makes all the difference. In my opinion playing on a smaller 1080p monitor looks better than a large HDTV anyway due to the pixel density difference.

I agree. I'm currently using a 24" LG 1080p & plan to get 2 others to flank it. Might go smaller not sure yet. Using an ATI 5870 ofc. Looking forward to using Eyefinity for BC2.

NVIDIA's option does NOT mean you have to wear glasses. Why would you have to wear glasses to view multiple monitors? Yes if you want 3d or multiple monitor 3d you need glasses. But thats not what we are talking about.

You want to have all the same size monitors, preferably the same brand and model, so all the screens are uniform. Dont go smaller for the side screens.

^^ what he said, and when I sit at my desk, my 24" monitor fills a heck of a lot more of my viewing angle then my 42" TV does from 8 feet away.

Of course. The only difference between DP and miniDP is the physical connector. Electrically, they are the same.

Ive been told NOT a Chance.
I just want to confirm for you right now that you CAN run the games you mentioned at full IQ with eyefinity and a SINGLE 5870. Mine had absolutely no problems.

At the OP, eyefinity will change the way you game. i've been using spanning since way back with the matrox th2g. eyefinity makes it much simpler and a 5870 can handle all your current games at max res, max IQ quite fine.

I should point out that not ALL games work well with spanning. Of course games of the future will handle it best because its becoming mainstream, but older games (ie the entire COD series) will NOT work well with eyefinity. The problem lies in the FOV (field of view) older games didnt expect that you'd be able to see across more than one monitor so they've made no effort to make sure it would look ok and in alot of cases it breaks the game.

My advice, since your seriously pondering it already, is to get it. at the very least you wont be dissapointed, at the most you'll wet your pants.

eyefinity, worth every penny hands down.
Nvidia's surround, not worth every penny. second vid card costs more than a display adapter, so does a sli ready motherboard, more powerful PSU, extra heat (fermies run increadibly hot) more power consumption and massive amount of noise induced by a second fermie.

I just want to point out that at this time i've got both ati's and nvidias surround setup. ati's is by far the better option.
