What's your budget and what screen size would be good? Do you have a preference between DLP and LCD?

Full HD 1080p projectors start at about $1,000
you can snag 720p projectors for as low as $700 now

Here's a decent 1080p DLP projector
NCIX.com - Buy BenQ W1000 HDTV 1080P DLP Projector 1920X1080 2000 ANSI 3000:1 2XHDMI Component - W1000 In Canada.

For screens what size would fit nicely in your basement? Any restrictions? 80-120 inches I believe is the norm for Projector screens. Make sure you get a 16:9 ratio screen though (if you get a 1080p projector)

NCIX.com - Buy Grandview FA-P92 16:9 92IN White Matte Manual Projector Screen - FA-P92 In Canada.

What's you're price range? I might get flamed for this but Insignia, from futureshop/bestbuy is actually quite nice and inexpensive. you can pick up a 42inch for less than a grand

What are you looking for exactly? Large screens are only found in TVs. They're still LCD anyways, so it's all fine and well. 1080p resolution is fine when your back quite a few feet, even on a large TV.

Kind of sounds like your after a projector setup though. And if that's what your after, make sure you have ample room for the projector to be mounted as far back as possible and centered with where you want the screen. Otherwise you'll have to invest in some special lens to move the image over, or a short-throw projector.

I highly recommend Panasonic PT-AE4000. I watched the UFC PPV on Saturday with this projector on a 140 inch screen in HD. Unbelievable.
