Default Monitor for gaming

Getting a new monitor soon and I saw this one on sale at Dell.
DELL UltraSharp 2209WA 22-inch Black Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor : LCD, Flat Panel & Widescreen Monitors & Accessorie | Dell Canada

It's a Dell UltraSharp 2209WA. It's on for $239 down from $329. Thinking about going for it right now. Is that a good price for an IPS monitor like that? Any better options?

I have the same monitor! You won't find a cheaper 22" IPS model. I really love mine!

I'm gaming on it, and I can't see a difference from my old samsung TN panel, except for the better image quality :)

Yup I have one too. Colours are vibrant and rich. Gaming on it is sweet. $239 is a pretty good price. Sometimes it goes for a bit less than that but I wouldn't balk at that price, that's for sure.

You should have got a 120hz monitor like the 2233rz (1680x1050) or the GD235HZ (1920x1080) if you play FPS games.

Can't game on 60hz any more. But we have the exact same dell model at work for our AutoCAD designers and they are perfect for image quality/color accuracy.

I can't notice the difference for anything over 60hz. I don't think my eyesight is good enough. I'd only go out of the way for 120hz if I wanted to do 3D.

Well I'm still running a 15inch CRT so this will be a huge upgrade for me.

You can also run the monitor at 75hz with a custom profile in the Nvidia control panel
