Might not be overly helpful, but the HD5870 runs everything fine at 2048x1152 (27" Acer) for me. Max settings, typically 4-8x AA.

I'm going to order the 2711. I mocked up a cutout of the size comparisons and recalled on how huge the 3007 was and I don't want to go back...sometimes bigger is not necessarily better!

I feel ya, I was on the same boat as you. Looking for a really nice display, I got my eye onto U2410, U2711 and the 3007 models. The later is just so big that I couldn't get used to it, I ended up settling for a U2410 and couldn't be happier!

Just got the deal before it expired. I have to admit that I'm no fan of Dell but they certainly have there financing in order. Basically deferred payments for 3 months at no cost, no admin, nada and if the money isn't there it automatically sets you up on a monthly plan ( be-it a nasty 19%). I could pay for it in full but why would I?

Sale is over on the 2711.
