With my HD3850 @ 715|1035 I use 1280x1024 or the next closest thing if it is not available. I would kind of prefer 1600x1024 but from what I have seen that is not entirely commonly available in a number of games. suppose it depends on the game though, with some they are fine with you manually setting a res in a config file if they do not come with it in their options screen.
Suppose I need a bigger display. :/

Silver, what good is 500FPS if the game looks like crap because you have all the setting turned down? Cranking the settings and living with 30-60FPS is much preferable imo.

I play at 1680x1050 with dual 512MB Radeon HD 3870 cards in CrossFire. They're both OCed to 825/2250. I have AA at 8X and AF at 16X. Plays all games very nicely. :)

I can OC the video cards considerably more, but heat is an issue in my cramped P180B case (specifically, the bottom card is not getting sufficient airflow to crank it up more.

1680 X 1050 because thats the native res of my LCD. And not playing at the native on an LCD is like playing after too many drinks.

I only have one 3870, the 5%-15% increase with the second card just isn't worth it.

That's why I use 1920x1200, my monitor doesn't do well with res' lower than the native. I haven't tried them all though....

Monitor: Hanns-G HW191D 19" LCD
Video Card: eVGA 8800GTS G80 640MB
My monitor's weird res: 1440x900.

I'm thinking about getting a nice Samsung 226BW though.
