Default suggestions for a 24" lcd

Greetings all, I'm looking to upgrade my Dell 22" to a 24" screen before the HST kicks in. I'll likely purchase from NCIX in the next few days. I have a question. Is there a big difference between 1920X1080 and 1920X1200? Which screen would you all recommend? I prefer no onboard speakers, tilt adjustment mandatory, height adjustment not so much but would be a nice touch. HDMI would be a bonus. I will consider most manufacturers. I'm not looking for the cheapest monitor in this range but my budget is kind of limited. I'll be using this monitor for gaming mostly. I will also be looking through the NCIX sale which starts tonight. Maybe I can score a deal. I hope you can all come up with a good list of monitors to choose from. Thanks.

Edit: I'm not sure if all monitors sold through NCIX are eligible for the zero dead pixel insurance, but the one I pick must be eligible. Thanks again.

I really enjoy my Samsung 2343bwx, It is 23" 2048x1152 and very slick looking. Also its not a bad price. It is TN panel so it doesn't have perfect color reproduction like the S-IPS and fancier monitors but it gets the job done and has an awesome rsolution! I got mine at bestdirect.ca for like $179.99
here it is on NCIX

I think they should all be eligible, you'll see a link for the "Express Coverage - with "ZERO Dead PIXEL" Exchange" on any model it's offered on. (All the one's I have looked at so far)

I am looking for a 24" sometime soon for my gaming setup, just need to find something I like.

My only concern about the 2343bwx is the 2048x1152 resolution, do games actually recognize odd ball screen resolutions the same way Windows does? Most of my games are at least a year or two old and only list common 4:3 resolutions and a few 16:10 options.

I am currently leaning towards a 24" Samsung 2494HM, the 1080p resolution and 5ms response time will be more than good enough for gaming use and it has a height adjustable stand. Now to wait and see what NCIX has on sale later tonight.

Gee thanks, took a gander at the 24" deal. Didn't buy one though. Splashed for the 27" instead, somebody shoot me before I spend again.

Well I pulled the trigger on the Samsung 2494HM after price matching it for $229, if I get a chance I will post my impressions when it shows up next week.
