Default Ordered Eyefinity monitors (Finally)

Got an excellent deal on three Dell 2407WFPs. No, theyre not displayport - which is their only realy drawback - but they have excellent viewing angles, good colors, good response time, swivel stands, etc. And before anyone asks: Yes, I made sure to get the A04 revisions without the supposed banding issues that some of those monitors have. Better late than never i suppose...

nadda. one-shot deal. despite taxes and shipping its still less than a 30'' monitor and will have more pixels and wider viewing angles.

For me you make the good choice. 24" is more than enough, I have a 24" on my desk with a 22" on the side, I need eyeglasses , since 4 years so I have to rise my head to read text on the top of the 24" , not with the 22" so I guess it will be more a problem with a 30" . both screen are at 24" of the border of the desk, I try a 24" on a smaller desk with the monitor at 18" of the front side of the table, it was too big, I have to turn my head left and right .

Got an A04 sitting right here. Never gamed on it though as it's hooked up to a work Mac. IIRC I think these PVA screens were a little more prone to ghosting but I can't say that from experience as I just use it for work (photoshop, web, email etc...).

the ghosting is supposed to be pretty much gone on the A04 version. From wiki:
" ... had major banding issues and other display quality control issues before the A04 revision in which Dell disabled a video processing chip inside of the 2407WFP when in "desktop" mode"

We'll see when i get em, hopefully early next week. Like I said, it wasn't easy to find monitors within my budget that would look good and perform well, but i managed. Fingers crossed.
