I almost had the missus convinced to get one a few weeks ago, and now she is backing out on me so don't complain lol.

Now I'm hoping there is some crazy deal that will compel her to buy...

they are ok i guess. i am not sure much they have improved rear projection tv's. Personally if i were to go with a projection system i would get front projection or an lcd/plasma.

hows this tv?

i thinkive convinced her to get a new tv now but its gonna have to be aroubnd $1500 or less with tax/shipping which this one falls into, hows the philips brand?

PHILIPS 52" 120Hz LCD 1080P HDTV With Pixel Plus 3HD Engine : TVs & TV Accessories | Dell Canada

its that or i go with

TV & Video: Flat Panel Televisions (Plasma And LCD): 45 - 54" Panel TV: Sharp 52" AQUOS D65U Series 1080p LCD HDTV | Visions Electronics

unless u have another suggestion, im ok with a plasma as long as its 1080P and looks good

is 120hz worth it? thats one thign i noticed, the philips comes with lol

if theres not much difference i might just go with the sharp, its less money and Ill still need a tv stand lol (cant use wall mount as I have an entertainment center that goes around the tv.

whether you need 60 or 120hz is debateable. IMHO about the only thing that you would want to 120hz is for blu-ray movies but other than that there is not much else it would be needed for.

well I do plan on watching bluray but if you think there isnt much difference Ill grab the sharp. Visions site says I can return a tv for any reason within 15 days (and they will pay for shipping to them and back if you need) so I just emailed them asking if that includes dead pixels.

if they do I think Ill buy the sharp
