Went out yesterday and bought a samsung 46 lcd tv , its a Samsung series 5 , 530
Not to bad at all

I also picked up a new dvd drive that upscales dvds to almost 1080p:)


So what ya all think did i do ok?

looking good wish i had 46' ha ha sorry i could not help myself samsung makes great tv. Color quality? wow right?

Hope you enjoy it, i love my samsung 32" LCD, Series 5, (i think its 550) hooked up to my computer, 360 and tv, hopefully you'll get tons of use out of it

well the wife says i can't hook my pc to it lol :)
i would think that would be nice to have the pc connected but hey in time i will get her to agree:) but yea the pic is pretty darn good , i have yet to see hd on it tho , gonna get hd hooked up this monday :) , gotta buy a hd box i guess?????

Actually you have a couple of routes you can go with HD WolfBane.

One is to actually buy the box from Futureshop/Best Buy and either choose to or not choose to buy the extended warranty/service plan incase the thing goes belly up (since they only have a 1 year manufac)
Or you can buy/rent from your cable/satellite provider. The benefit of renting from them is that you are covered for as long as you are renting and when new technology of say a pvr comes out you can say your current one is broken/not working and get a new one. Down side is you're paying a monthly rental fee. Either way, just dont buy the box from the provider because then the most you can get is a 1 year manufac

Well ihave shaw satalite hooked up here but you would think one could at least get a hd channel or two free???

Sounds good...can't tell from the pic.:thumb: I bought a Toshiba 46" Regza(46RV535U) in late March. I looked at your TV,among other Sammys, Panasonics, Sonys and LGs :blarg:...but i liked the Toshiba... and it was a great deal...$999 from FS. :biggrin:

i think having a tv like this and not having hooked up to a pc is a crime.

I would be curious to see your computer connected through it and watching a movie - My current PC setup does a great job upscaling SD video so much that it is almost amazing - Definately better than a TV's own scaler - haven't compared with a standalone DVD upscaler, but my guess would be better.

I will wait for that new multi-led Samsung 50' TV, to go down in price :D

Speaking of new Samsung TVs, they sent me their new LN55B650 for review and I have been using it for the last three weeks. PQ is stunning for a 6-series TV but so far I find shimmering, judder and ghosting to be a serious concern.
