Default 2209wa appears to be discontinued

Seems like LG cut dell off so that they (LG) have more supply to make their W2220P monitors.

Read it on some other forums so nothing is official, but I hear the W2220P will be a cheap E-IPS monitor with 1920x1200 res.

Anyone have more info on this?

I chatted with a "sales" rep from dell, he was useless, told me to call the parts department for more info, seems the guy (like most) couldnt tell a difference between panel types.
call with parts department went mostly as such- call, get in touch with rep, tell her i've been looking to buy one, whats your phone number so i can look up your account...I dont have an account, i've been looking to buy, but its been discontinued, get transferred, new person is barely understandable (and apparently she can barely hear me too), wait for callback, get called back, get told....a list of their 22" LCD monitors... had to try to drill it into the rep's head about a half dozen times that i was looking ONLY for the 2209WA or another replacement that used the same panel type, all I ever got was- im sorry sir, its no longer available, try <list of other 22" monitors>...you'd think the SERVICE DEPARTMENT would know what the heck their own products use...
(rep) sir, what was it about the 2209WA that you wanted?
(me) the panel quality, the 2209WA was arguably the BEST 22" LCD on the market due to its use of the LG e-IPS panel
(rep) well, what about <other 22" LCDs>?
(me) none feature the same panel. Why was it discontinued?
(rep) oh, well dell is constantly replacing products <continuing propaganda type speech>
(me) the 2209WA was less than 6 months old (well, its about 8, but still) and most of the monitors that dell has listed are between 6-12 months old
(rep) oh...well, what about <other 22" LCDs)

I guess there wasn't enough sales to make it profitable for Dell?

I'd take a guess and say this replaced it: Dell : Dell Professional P2210 22-inch Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor : Displays : Small & Medium Business as it has all the same features other than the worse viewing angles since it's TN based.

LG W2220P v. Dell 2209WA: PC Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review
LCD and TFT Monitor News

"260.00 Euro for the 22-inch model."
"
W2220P 22" IPS monitor (about 240)"

Doesn't look too good, if you factor in the exchange rate. Buuut, Europeans usually get ripped off by electronics companies so, hopefully ours will cost only around $280 lol. Man... I wish I got that 2209wa for $190

ditto, or even 240ish would have done it well for me...
*continues waiting for monitor* the best thing about the dell would have been the fact of dell's pixel warranty is great...unlike LGs
