Default Best bang for the buck 24" lcd monitor?

I'm looking for a 24" lcd monitor thats on the inexpensive side but dosn't sacrifice quality. I game and watch high quality video but don't really need a slew of connection types and prefer that it not have built in speakers. I'd like it to have a height ajustment and the ability to tilt. About the only other thing I'd like is that it have dual input but thats not really essential as I just need it for folding but can do w/o it by just using a homemade plug. I have 3 gtx 260 216s so I think that will provide plenty of juice to run games at 1920x1200. If anyone spots a terrific sale on a 24" even if it dosn't have height and tilt adjustment I'd love to hear about it. I'm aiming at ~$350 range if thats doable but will spend up to $400. Thanks for any and all input.

You could always try used as well. The Dell 2407wfp is a great monitor that you can get for around 350-400. Always a few on Redflagdeals. Other than that for that price range its hard to get anything other than a TN and well personally I can't stand them but that's up to you!

Dell does make some fabulous monitors FtGF but I'm hessitant to buy used. I was curious about how much they sell that model you mentioned and it seems it's been replaced by a newer version the Dell Ultrasharp 2408wfp and is $699 retail. ouch! But wow what a feature set and paired with best in industry image clarity. I think I'm in love but alas thats way out of my price range.

jay those two samsungs are more in my price range and the one with built in tv tuner is a nice feature and it's currently $369 and the base model w/o the tv-tuner is $320 but I've read a few discouraging reviews that those two models are somewhat lacking in games and backlight bleeding and ghosting is evident. I've had my 22" sammy for almost a year now and I know what they're talking about but I've lived with these minor annoyances so far so I'll put that T240HD in my list. The built-in tv tuner with remote is a value added feature but I'd happily exchange it for a stand that has height ajustment and tilt.

Please keep the monitor suggestions coming.

Ya just thought I throw it out there. I understand the hesitation to buy a panel used. Unfortunately the newer 2408 had a lot of problems and has severe input lag.

My brother has the 20inch version of the sammy mentioned. Not a bad panel at all. Good luck I know that shopping for a monitor is a PITA

Just so you know Dell has their deals of the day thing going on right now so you might be able to catch a really good deal for one of their monitors. At least worth checking each morning for a couple days.

Great minds think alike ipaine. heh

When I was looking up that Dell 24" I noticed that they had thier 10 days of saving deals starting and today is day 2 and they have some terrific deals on 23" monitors for around $200. I'm not sure if I want to go that route as the aspect ratio is only 16:9 and only go up to 1920x1080 and not 1920x1200. I'm not sure if thats a big deal really but from most game and video card reviews I've seen they tend to benchmark with the higher rez and screenshots I've seen of in-game look alot better and less pinched or thin looking. I'll keep checking back at Dell in the following days because their beautiful 24" models look so amasing I can't get them out of my head. Plus the fact that Dell has easy payment plans and outstanding tech support and warranty. If any of the HWC reviewers see this thread maybe they would consider doing some monitor reviews as I've never seen one done here. Anyways please keep the suggestions coming. Tia

I've been shopping for new dual monitor setup but a friend told me to wait till OLED screens hit the market sometime this year. Not sure how realistic the prices will be.
