New LCD TV : 60hz or 120hz...?

I'm about to buy a new LCD TV, since my 37" Protron piece of crap finally stopped displaying any source coming from my HTPC ...

So I'm leaning towards the Sharp Aquos 42", but 1 question remains: 60hz or 120hz?

Is the 100$ difference for 120hz worth it?

Not that I'm totally sold on the 120Hz thing in TVs yet...but for $100 I'd probably go for it. BTW I quite like the picture as well as the style of the Sharp Aquos TVs, nice choice.

I've got the 60hz version myself. But the difference was $400 at the time, and I couldn't see much of a difference on the screen. If it's only $100 difference now, get the 120hz. I think you might regret it eventually if you didn't.

$100 difference? I say go for it since you can turn it off. IMO, it is great for games and just horrible for movies.

It's this model here : and my bad, it's 200$ over the 60hz model.

Can't wait to get it in, the 5 HDMI ports are also going to be a nice upgrade to my Protron's 1 port, since I have an HTPC, an XBOX360 and soon to have a Wii (girlfriend's...) !

I would (and did) go for the 120. It's worth it IMO.
