Projector Noob, need a little help
I recently acquired a a projector from an auction, state of lamp was unknown so i got it really dirt cheap (30 bucks), i got it home and plugged it in and it started up and showed a screen, all blue with the canon logo and started counting down. it got to about 5 secs and goes black. and the replace bulb light comes on.
now this is where the noob question comes in, if the projectors bulb was out would i even get that startup screen and think something else is wrong besides the bulb and save myself some money on a new bulb? or do all projectors show this startup screen even with a bulb that needs replacing.
the model is a Canon LV-5210u , i got the manual online but never saw anything pertaining to my particular problem.
I don't know if this is manufacturer propaganda, but they always say the bulbs can explode if used significantly past their rated hours.
I'm betting it's false.
That said, if you're quick enough to try to reset the lamp hours you may be able to squeeze out a bit more.
And all the projectors I've had in the past have had a "warmup time" showing a solid color and usually the manufacturer's logo.
