Default LCD Monitor Recommendations

My friend is looking to purchase a new 20" or 22" LCD monitor for around $200 + tax. He's going to purchase it from Canada Computers or PC Village. He will be using it for moderate gaming and homework use. His new computer is the following: $1000 Build For a Friend

I'm currently looking into the Acer X223WbD, LG W2242TQ-BF, and Samsung Syncmaster 2233BW from Canada Computers. From PC Village, Samsung SyncMaster 2220WM.

^^ 2209WA from Dell... it's not cheap anymore. Back to $369.

@OP

When it comes to a $200 LCD, I would probably want to check it out in person or just compare style/features and decide which I liked best. Sammy's are usually quite popular. LG's also. The T220 is about $224. Not sure how much better it would be than a 223BW?

the T220 can be had for $208.99 here Samsung T220 22IN Widescreen LCD Monitor Black 1680X1050 2MS 20000:1DC VGA DVI-D HDCP

the monitor is bigger but not the actual screen size

I found Canada Computers - LCD Monitors > 22" LCD Monitors : Samsung Syncmaster 2233BW Black 22" Widescreen LCD - 1680x1050, 5ms, 20000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio, 300cd/m2, VGA. DVI. for $199.99 starting tomorrow at Canada Computers. Is that good?

Isn't Samsung a bit sketchy? I remember back then, there was the A,B,C,D and S panels with the 206BW/226BW, etc.
