@sswilson: Good point. We have another viewsonic that has been going strong after 3 years of very heavy use.

I just saw this a few minutes ago, NCIX has a 19"ws on for $186.99.

I bought my mother an Acer 19" (not wide screen) for xmas last year and she loves it. It was much clearer and easier for her to read things on than the old crt she had. Although she still likes it set to 800x600... :/
I don't know how good Acers are. I guess time will tell.

Yeah I since picked up a new 19 lcd but thanks.

SS yeah I was WTF first one I had die like that.

As you said usually they darken take forever to warm up or like the 15" I had @ one time, the screen starts to shrink.

In my experience CRTs have gotten unreadably blurry before I've had any other problems with them.
