Need a GREEN 5.25" LCD

Hi guys!

I'm looking for a green display LCD for a future modding project. Frankly, I don't really care what it displays--it's more for the look. My ideal would be a dual 5.25" bay LCD display in green monochrome (like the old monitors) and CHEAP.

Any ideas?

your not going to find many options for a dual bay lcd module for cheap. But check out this site.

Matrix Orbital Serial LCD & USB LCD modules, Serial Graphic LCD Interface, Serial VFD & USB VFD modules, Serial PLED & USB PLED displays and Parallel LCD displays

some pretty cool stuff. If vour interested i also have a small 16x3 character lcd i would be willing to part with. It conects with a parallel cable and was a build it your self kit so it doesn't have a mounting plate.

Wow. Thanks for a great link! Unfortunately, it looks like what I want is out of my price range; maybe if the mod turns out REALLY WELL, I'll spend the money for one of those.

Oh, and thanks for the offer, but I'm pretty sure my current motherboard doesn't even have a parallel connection.

incase your interested i am using a typhonn gx Tri Color in my NAS project. I picked it up from frozen CPU for $99 USD.

Thanks! That looks very cool! Expensive, but cool!

if your looking for cheap pick up one of those nmedia LCD-PRO lcd modules from ncix (i think around $50) they work really well. i bought the oem one for my HTPC rebuild. If you check out my build log there is a video of it running.

+1 on the nMedia VFDs.

their actually not VFD's but just really bright LCD's but they are made by VL Systems.

Thanks! I saw those at one point, but I couldn't decipher exactly what color they would turn out to be. Your video was a HUGE help!

once i get it installed and running i will take a picture with my tripod so it's a little better as the green is a little washed out in the video.
