I think my mom would like to get an upconverter. We're currently using the standard Rogers digital cable stuff and the quality isn't as good as it can be. Of course, I still need to calibrate the TV.

Oh, and don't forget to update the firmware. It helps a lot.

You do realize that SAMSUNG makes the LCD Panels for SONY however sony might switch over to SHARP. Anyways, its almost the same TV so get the Samsung because its probably $100 cheaper.

I've got a link to an article pertaining to this somewhere..

well i no u allready bought your t.v.but myself i got most of my info frum avs forums 2.then i went shopin.

i bought the 52"sammy 750 about a year ago and i luv it.then replaced comp monitors with sammy32" 550's.and there great 2 piad about $650;00 4 them.then we needed 1 more so i picked up the sonybravia kdl-32vl140 got it on sale 4 about $650;00,this sony model is almost xact same specs as the xbr6 model munis the housing and and 1 or 2 other things cant remember what they r thou

but out of the box the sammys didnt need any fine tunning,4 me.but with the sony i had 2 fool around with it 2 get it the way i liked it.but i allso bought this sony instead of another sammy 550 bcause it had more options 4 the t.v part of it like the biult in t.v giude ect.

and im thinkin of tradin the sony 4 the sammy 550 that was 4 my son.only my opinion but every time we went 2 buy a lcd the sammy"s just looked better 2 me,and the sound seemed better 4 what u can test and c at the store

i made a thread comparison with pixs of the sammy32" 550 and the sony kdl32vl140 but i cant find it. i'll make another thread of the 2 t.v's soon with pixs.

just a side note my mum dad, brothers and sisters family all bought the sharps 8 series and the 9 seriers s.e,and my bro bought the 32" sharp gammers edition 4 his comp.and they agree that the sammys p q is much more vivid.but if your room is very bright eg lots of sunlight frum a big window the sammys and sonys u will c a reflection frum the light.bcause the sharps have a matt finish u never c the glare frum any light.

so if your room is very bright even thou i luv my sammys/sonys,i wood say get the sharp unless u can place the t.v were u wont get the reflection frum the sunlight, bcause i had 2 change livin room around so i wood not get that reflection frum the big livinroom window

well im startin 2 babble on i'll put these things i've found out in my thread that i do up

Sony and Samsung are two top brands. It is like AMD vs Intel discussion. Having said that I like and use Sony.
