Tons of hdtvs, no clue which to choose

These are a bunch of the tvs on sale at fs and bestbuy for boxing day, only included the ones under $1000 since thats my budget but it may be worth checking tem out yourself too.

Well ill have a budget of around $1000 to buy a new tv on boxing day and cant make up my mind on what to get

At futureshop they have:

Then over at best buy they have these tvs:

LG 47" LCD 1080p, 15,000:1 contrast ratio for $999, model is 47LG55

Dynex 42" Plasma, 720p, 10,000:1 contrast ratio, $599, model DX-PDP42-09 (saw this on the grad opening sale 2 weeks ago and it looked dark and faded compared to everything else)

Toshiba 40" LGD, 1080p, 15,000:1 contrast ratio, $799, model 40RV525U

Sony 40" 1080p LCD, 25,000:1 contrast ratio, $999, model is KDL40V4100

Samsung 37" lcd, 1080p, 30,000:1 cantrast ratio, $699, model LN37A530

These are all the tvs im looking at, im in canada so the sales are likely different than in the states. Basically the only reason im thinking about getting the cheaper ones are so i can get a 360 or ps3 as well. Im really leaning towards the 50" at best buy though. If anyone has any advice on these tvs or owns one and can tell me how good it is that would be great. Id hate to get in line at 4am at one of the stores to find the tv i wanted isnt as good as what i thought and i have to switch stores :(

Sharp 46" Aquos FTW. I've got one. That TV was $1999 last Boxing day. Was 1399 a few weeks ago.

I've never run across anyone who was unhappy with their Aquos.

Ya ive narrowed by choices down to the 47" LG/40" toshiba at best buy or the 46" sharp aquos/40" samsung at futureshop. Getting either 40" would allow me to get a bluray player/console. Although i never buy dvds or movies anyways lol.
Have you noticed any flaws in your aquos? were the blacks deep compared to what else you saw in store when you bought that one?

Edit: Also do you know what the width of the stand itself is? need to know if my stand will hold it lol, its only 24 inches wide but it held my 42" LG that had a base of 30"

if u realy want a 32" the lg20 has good specs i have never treid it or seen it in person but 4 $ 479/dang thats a good deal

Sharp Aquos 46" hands down.

What about the 37" samsung at bestbuy? it has some fairly solid reviews and would let me get a 360 or ps3 as well

Unless you lack room the sweet spot for LCDs is between 42-50 for daily viewing.

Same model? I did get a good deal then. TV's have a good markup. Mine was bought in the boxing WEEK sale while I worked there :censored: and the price was adjusted even cheaper because of the sale.

I did find a stuck pixel when I bought it, and planned on returning it but was too lazy and now the pixel seems to have worked itself out, or my eyes got worse. Either being possible.

I think you'll be happy with it.

Alright i think im pretty much settled on getting the aquos lol, hopefully they wont be sold out when i get there. If they are i assume that 40" samsung will make a good second choice for 799?

The base of the TV is approximately 22" wide by 14" deep. (holding a piece of 8.5x11" paper next to it, my son has absconded with my tape measure again).
