Default 1080p Projectors under $1400!!

Check out the new Optoma HD80! Review: Optoma HD80 Home Theater Projector

Currently you can find them for under $1400 right now! I came in to work today and found a bunch of orders, so I had to check it out for myself. Seems like a killer deal!

EDIT - I have a strange suspicion that it COULD be a pricing error on the supplier side....waiting for verification....

Is there any ''upgrader'' in this projector to make the 720p or reagular broadcast look ok ?

720p should still look good. I use a 1080p Monitor for my main machine, and most of what I watching is 720p anyway, and it still looks great! But no, it does not do Upscaling. You need a fancy DVD player or Reciever to do that I think.

1080i is the max, and it always will be for HD over the air.
1080p uses more bandwidth and the airwaves aren't allocated for that.

just buy used blurays or hddvds, the downloads are usually crap rips from amateurs that dont look nearly as good and they take forever and a day to dl and like you said eat your bandwidth limit. Ive found tons of people selling there blurays for about 10-15 bux so i would just pounce on good used ones. Ive been picking up anything descent in hddvd as well for 5-10 bux a piece and hddvd looks fantastic i still feel some of my hddvds are my best lookign hd content [matrix trilogy and NIN concert] but there is some great looking blurays out there too i just find as with anyone with a monopoly, once the competition is gone they start to care less and less about being competative quality wise. lets hope they dont continue that trend.
