In the US they have Black Friday which is when they have their massive sales, though here in Canada I'd probably wait until Boxing Day but then you need to deal with low stock and crowds, but if you get out early you could probably snag a good deal.

Considering the canadian dollar is dropping (0.85) it might be a good time right now,
before retailers start adjusting their prices.

Yeah making everything more expensive to reflect the change in the dollar rather than making things cheaper when it was parity

Boxing day can be the worst day to buy Televisions ....the big box stores bring in specific Boxing day sales products and that's what is pushed, very rarely do you get a quality up to date product on boxing day...most of the stuff is refurbished or product that was specifically manufactured for such sales. Products that often look the same but have a slightly different product Sku's made of cheaper internal components. Pick the TV you want first then look for the deal.....do not start at the deals and find your way to a television...anyway these are only my thoughts take them as lightly as you wish....is there any specific brand you are looking for...I can find you the price you should be asking for the television and when the prices will go down...within reason.

only CRT supports this? if then i will look at used newest product... maybe again from viewsonic ;p

but according to some sources... LCD is also supporting this HDR feature...?

btw... so its best time to buy old stocks at after mid-nov?
Because of the way LCD displays color vs. the way a CRT works, no, HDR scenes will not look the same as they do on CRT - Keep in mind that the affordable LCDs that most people buy for their computer use the cheaper TN panels, and 6bit color which means it does not even display all the colors - while for most applications you won't notice, if you have gaming with lots of color gradations, lighting and effects, the dithering might not look that great. For LCD I personally would wait until they get better, OR invest in a more expensive one, and check out the specs for the color gamut and whether it uses 6bit or 8bit - most of the time companies do not show these :) The LCD will be better than most of the crappy old CRT, but against a pro series CRT, I have yet to see the most expensive LCD compete, and I've seen quite a lot of them. :) The ones that come close and use the expensive panels meant for graphic artists and gamers, are way outside the budget range of most people :D

It was worth 0.98 not that long ago ! I guess we are heading back to the 0.59 very soon - so it's back to paying $800-$900 for your grpahic card and double for your computer products :)
