From my standpoint a piece of software can't be "recalled". It's just like the car industry; if there are issues they can be patched, like a mechanic would fix your car.

I think Ubisoft needs to go through a lot more soul searching first and foremost. At the same time, buyers need to start wising up and completely ignoring things like collectors editions, Day One promos and even pre-ordering the games. All that does is fuel the gaming industry to keep rushing out sub-par titles to make a quick buck. It's time for a fundamental change but until the actual BUYERS make their voices heard by not purchasing games on their launch day, it will be business as usual.

Recall would be virtually impossible, but blizzard did refunds on DIII for downloaded versions.

Agreed though that it's up to customers to change their behaviour(s) WRT pre-ordering in order to get the point across that things have to change.

Wow on the first GPU's guys.. just wow..

Mine (bought by me) was a (I believe a BFG) Geforce Ti 4800 SE, then a 7800 then a HD5570,560Ti,670, and now a pair of 780's (near a year and a half old so not to bad on the price - use)
Had a Riva TNT2 before that but wasn't bought by me or strictly MY computer..

Just wow..

IIRC, the first vid card I bought myself was a Western Digital branded one... don't remember that much about it other than the fact that the colour palette was quite a bit more vibrant than the other cards I had been looking at. That was probably around the same time (within a year or so) as S3 cards were the standard card being thrown into store build rigs. Soon after that I snuck a rage based AIW into the house under the cover of darkness.... :)

I could be wrong on this but I seem to remember Mac OS X 10.3.0 from late Oct 2003 supported USB 2.0 out of box on the late 2003 Macs Apple had with USB 2.0.
On the other hand you needed to patch 10.2(Aug 2002) to 10.2.8(early Oct 2003) for USB 2.0 support so that does not count.
That pre-dates a late 2006 Vista.

And if it turns out that I am not remembering correctly and it was 10.3.2 or something... well, 10.4.0 was released April 2005.
You had to pay for 10.2->10.3->10.4->10.5, etc.(IDK when they stopped charging for Mac OS recently)
Despite all being "Mac OS X" they are considered properly separate products.

First GPU I "bought" was an ATI 9250SE PCI. Beast! Believe it or not that was the last ATI GPU I have bought since, apart from some mining cards... For some reason I stick with Nvidia for my gaming builds.

Totally agree. Next time there's a major game launch with anticipated super-hype, we can lower our expectations and in 6-month time pull the plug on a steam sale.

UBISOFT as of way of saying sorry announced that everyone who owns AC:U will get the "Dead Kings" DLC for free. I hope this doesn't become common practice for game developers to bandage the issue.

My first EVER GPU was some Voodo card, but that came with our first computer so by the time i got to upgrade a pre-built system, the GT9600 (from BFG when they still existed) was the choice.
