Default Best Cheap Intel CPU for Overclocking/Gaming Performance?

I am wondering if someone can help clear up this issue for me.

I have been out of the loop as to all the different great Overclockable Intel CPU's that have been launched since the first big wave of C2D starting with the E6400-E6600 Era.

Now I am faced with a very Tuff decision, Which CPU to get. I am only after the Gaming Performance so I don't need to worry about the other Benchmarks.

I have read a few reviews of the E8400 and E8500 but what about the other Budget C2D's.

Where is the E6400 of the new CPU's. From what I remember, The E6400 was the best Overclocker for the Price/Performance Ratio. When Overclocked on air the E6400 was able to complete with a CPU worth 1000 the X6800!! Here is a link to the article:

http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets...spx?i=2802&p=9

So I would like to know which Budget CPU does now does what the E6400 Did to the X6800

Please feel free to provide some links to support any claims. Also please keep in mind that I am on a ASUS P5B with G-skill DDR2 800Mhz Ram.
Thanx!! _

Seems to me like you want the E8400, 172.98
NCIX - Intel E8400, Core 2 Due E8400 Wolfdale Dual-Core Processor

But the best price/performance ratio I would think it to be the E7200 129.98
NCIX.com - Buy Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 Dual Core Processor LGA775 2.53GHZ 1066FSB 3MB Retail Box - BX80571E7200 In Canada.

I don't have any legit reviews to link this for you, but for price/performance for gaming I'm guessing you want the E7200... so long as you plan on overclocking.

Thanx for the help.
Gonna have to read some reviews on the E7200 and E8400. I just thought there was a "New Budget Overclock King".
what about Any CPU's that are coming out in the next few months? Also keep in mind My Mobo is running out of Legs in terms of what kind of CPU's it will be able to support.

Just saw the C2D E5200 under 100 bucks, What the Deal with this one?
Link
Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Duo E5200 2.5GHz 2MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Dual-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops
Could this be the "New Budget Overclock King"!?

Well it has a FSB of 800MHz and L2 Cache of 2 Mb... While the E8400 has a FSB of 1333MHz and 6Mb Cache. The E5200 is a cheap entry level processor... Also the website your quoting is in the US... does not ship to Canada... US prices.
Here it is for 95.53+shipping http://www.1click2computers.com/prod...d=BX80571E5200

I highly dout it will be the "New Budget Overclock King"... I would go for at least the e7200 processor... but really the e8400 is better.

One thing that made the 805D the "Budget OC King" was it's very high multi (20x) so you only needed a low FSB to get high OC outcomes, as well as having a very good die etc etc.
