It does look nice but they have gone the old "cosmetic" covers on the NB and SB again which will impair cooling potential. At least it looks like you can remove the NB cover via 2 screws and throw it in the bin.

Six DIMM sockets? SAS connectors?

When over kill just is not good enough!

...and only 8 USB sockets. That is a step backwards.

I think its 16 phase for the CPU and 2 phase for the RAM.

This is a Nehalem Mobo so tri-channel DDR3 RAM so yea 6 DIMM's.

Hehe definitely. The only thing that this board is ruining for me is NOTHING lol. It has more than I'll ever need, and it also introduces some workstation/server electronics as well, which should make this an enthusiast's favourite as well.

I wanna see the RoG boards as well. They should be pretty close to what this is.

Can I ask though, who the hell has 8 USB devices plugged in at all times? I think that's more than enough IMHO. Let's see, iPod, keyboard, mouse, printer, webcam...flash drive too. But that still leaves two...
