beer n motherboards

hello all, well im putting together a new pc probably under a $1000 and ive been looking at a couple of motherboards at first was looking at the x38s but their a bit pricey. i narrowed it to the gigabyte ep35-ds3l with the p35 or the P5Q-pro with p45 and has crossfire support which is great since i'll be getting one hd 4850 and probably end up grabing another when money flows. the gigabyte is 100$ at canadacomputers near me. but they dont have the p5q pro and getting it online would be 150$ at ncix. ive read both features and seem great just need some opinions. currently using the dfi-lanparty which were great just wanna upgrade to intel

I'd go with the P45 chipset. Faster than the P35 and X38 from what I've read. It's also pretty reasonably priced.

You should keep an eye out for NCIX sales though if you don't mind ordering online because the ASUS P5Q boards are usually on sale.

Asrock is a great brand. I once had a s939 Dual-Sata2 board that was very solid in every aspect including overclocking. I wish I hadn't sold it.

i just seen direct canada selling the P5Q pro for 138!! i decided to order from their but ordering it is a problem because it says their certificate or something has expired and couldnt checkout ? ncix selling for 150$

Once fried a motherboard after drinking lots of beer. Put the heatsink on backwards on a Duron. When we fired up the computer for the first time, the fans spun, and a little chinese voice could be heard in the room. No post though. Turns out that the motherboard (a Soyo) had a post feature that had a voice that told you what stage during post a problem had occurred. Turns out that the little chinese voice was trying to tell us"hey dummy, don't drink a case of beer and try to assemble your roommates new pc or you might crush the core, and fry your motherboard in the process."

So when I saw the thread title I had some hope that someone else did the same as me.
