My System Specs

Default T8100 vs P8400 & Centrino 2

Well I don't know if anybody here knows anything about laptop CPU/motherboards but I'll ask anyways...

Any reason why I should hold out for the P8400 and Centrino 2 platform?
I'm eying the Dell XPS m1330 for school this fall but I don't want to buy the "old" platform only to know that I could of gotten something better if I had waited (of course I can't play the waiting game forever). I don't really need discrete graphics so the hybrid graphics stuff with Centrino 2 isn't a huge deal. Even if I had discrete graphics I still doubt I'd be doing any serious gaming on a laptop anyways. I somehow doubt Dell will cram that into the m1330 but you never know. I'm definitely trying to avoid NVIDIA though due to their recent problems.

From what I can tell, the P8400 is clocked faster due to it's 1066FSB and is rated for only 25W compared to the T8100 with it's 800FSB and 35W rating, so that leads me to believe the P8400 probably uses less power thus increasing my battery life.

I'm leaning towards waiting but I kinda have the urge to just buy it now. Of course, I don't even know if I truly NEED a laptop for school but I WANT one anyways

Oh and if you could take an educated guess, how long do you think until Dell upgrades the m1330 to Centrino 2?
